Formålet med kanalerne er at funger

Formålet med kanalerne er at fungere som en metode til at udveksle (sende eller modtage) meddelelser imellem kø-systemer. Dette kunne f.eks. være at overføre en meddelelse fra HDK1 (den Danske produktions-server) til HRE1 (den Spanske produktions-server). Kanalernes eksistens er skjult for applikationerne der bruger MQ. En kanal kan ENTEN sende ELLER modtage, aldrig begge dele. Dette betyder at vi har defineret 2 kanaler for hver anden kø-system vi snakker med (1 send og en recieve). Disse kanaler skal være startet før meddelelser kan udveksles. Opsætningen af MQ er foretaget således at kanalerne startes automatisk når der er en meddelelse der skal sendes fra systemet (sender-kanalen bliver ”triggered”).
